Basic navigation

Step one: log in

Although it is currently possible to edit pages here without being logged in, your experience will be easier and less confusing if you begin by logging into your LeadScape account.

If you are already logged in, you'll see a “Welcome” message with your username at the top right of this page.

To log in, click on the key icon at the top right of this page (or anywhere else you see the key Log in invitation). From there you can create a LeadScape account if you don't have one already.

Main links from the "widget"

At the left panel of this web browser window, you will see a “widget” box entitled “LeadScape Wiki.” When you are logged in, you will see a variety of links in this widget. Clicking on the link “My school's Home” (or on the widget title “LeadScape Wiki”) will take you to the home page for your school. The link “About this wiki” will lead you easily to this and other reference pages. The list of “Recent local updates” will show the most recent several new or updated pages at your school.

Search box

To search for specific terms within the LeadScape wiki, enter your term(s) in the Search box at the top of any wiki page. Your results will show first any pages whose pagenames match your term(s), and then any pages where your search text appears.

The search results do not currently provide an easy display to tell you whether the page in question belongs to your school's own wiki, or to some other LeadScape school.

Table of contents

Any wiki page containing more than two header tags will automatically display a Table of Contents at the top right of the wiki page (directly under the Search box). You can see one at the top of this page. Often this can make it easier to scan through a long page to find the precise piece you're looking for. Especially on the LeadScape site, you may find it handy to use these links to jump farther down the page, rather than using two scroll bars in your browser window.

What links to this page?

If you click on the page title at the top of any page on this wiki – on this page, for example, the title is “wiki:basic_navigation” – you can see a list of pages that link to the current page.

What are other schools doing?

If you want to see more about what other schools are doing with this wiki, one way to do that is to go to the bottom of any wiki page and click on the bottom right link to “Index.” Another is to follow the links to schools from the list of LeadScape Summer Institute 2007 pilot program participants.
