Narrative Questions

Monthly data meetings in grade-level teams, instructional planning in teams, quarterly review of formative assessments. Strategies for increasing include professional learning in use of formative assessments to guide instructional planning.
Building Leadership Team includes representation from all grade levels; Professional learning planning includes input from grade level teams; Curriculum coaches work with teachers at each grade level. Improvements: More teacher-initiated professional learning groups.
School-wide involvement in discussions of any new programs or initiatives before adoption; BLT assesses curricular impact of all decisions in formal process. Data used include monthly grade-level data review as well as quarterly school-wide formative data review.
Ongoing professional learning in implementing and supporting effective practices; grade-level team focus on differentiating instruction in lesson planning; lesson study groups; summer workshop on culturally responsive practices.
Differentiated instruction at all grade levels, lesson study groups, implementation of Response to Intervention with 3 tiers of support, small-group literacy instruction.
