Abstract

A study examined the impact of student proactivity and learning goal orientation on perceptions of quality of learning and overall course satisfaction among 241 graduate and undergraduate students in an online program. Findings revealed how proactive personality and personal learning goals influenced student assessments of learning and satisfaction in an online environment. In particular, proactive personality played a key role in enhancing learning. Other findings of the study are discussed, and recommendations for future research are provided.
